This page tracks availability and changes that affect all of Klarna's PSD2 interfaces — the new XS2A v2 API, the legacy XS2A v1 API, and the contingency mechanism. To be notified when something here changes, subscribe on the Open Banking and PSD2.
Availability statistics
In line with RTS Art. 32(4), Klarna publishes quarterly statistics on the availability and performance of its PSD2 interfaces — covering both the dedicated TPP interface and the interface made available to Klarna's own customers.
These statistics include, per quarter:
- Uptime / availability of the dedicated interface.
- Downtime, including planned and unplanned outages.
- Average response time per request type.
- Error rates for the dedicated interface.
Published figures and the reporting link will be referenced here once the production interface is live.
Planned maintenance
Planned maintenance windows affecting any PSD2 interface are announced here in advance and, for material changes to the dedicated interface, communicated to registered TPPs by email.
No maintenance is currently scheduled.
Announcements
Notable changes across Klarna's PSD2 interfaces — new API versions, breaking changes, deprecations, and migration milestones. The most recent entry is listed first. Per-version change logs live on each API's own pages: the XS2A v2 change log and the legacy XS2A v1 announcements.
Planned milestones
Dates are planning targets and may shift; this page is updated as milestones are confirmed. See the XS2A v2 roadmap.

| October 2026 | XS2A v2 | Sandbox release. The v2 sandbox opens for connection and functional testing with a sandbox test certificate. |
| November 2026 | XS2A v2 | Production release and transition start. v2 is available in production and the legacy and v2 APIs run in parallel. New integrations should target v2 directly. |
| November 2026 – March 2027 | XS2A v1 (legacy) | Transition period. The legacy API stays fully available and unchanged while TPPs migrate to v2. |
| March 2027 | XS2A v1 (legacy) | Decommissioning. A firm date will be announced to TPPs at least 3 months before the legacy API is switched off (RTS Art. 30(4)). |
XS2A v2 documentation published
- Documentation for the XS2A v2 (Berlin Group openFinance) API is available: Account Information (AIS), Payment Initiation (PIS), authentication (mTLS / eIDAS), Strong Customer Authentication, sandbox test data and migration guidance.
- The legacy XS2A v1 API remains fully available throughout the transition. The contingency mechanism is unchanged.
