When Klarna is offered as a payment method, it must be described and presented according to Klarna’s branding and placement guidelines across all Partner touch points. There should be an easy way to access Klarna’s services within your ecosystem — whether from a dashboard, console, or account area, later on referred to as Portal. When providing such self-service interface, as an Acquiring Partner, you are required to provide a clear, permanent connection to the Klarna Partner Portal, where Partners can activate conversion-boosting features such as On-site Messaging, Klarna Express Checkout, and Sign in with Klarna, as well as manage disputes depending on configuration.

1. Present Klarna as a payment method

Wherever your portal has a list of payment methods, follow these guidelines to ensure Klarna is presented consistently and correctly alongside other payment methods, with clear branding, categorization, and value messaging.

  • Use the approved Klarna logo and branding.
  • Present Klarna under a payment method category that reflects its ubiquitous availability.
  • Use Klarna’s value proposition. "Klarna connects merchants with high-intent shoppers, offering flexible payment options—Pay in full, Pay later, and Financing. These options give customers more choice, driving stronger conversion and higher order value.”

2. Permanent connection to Klarna Partner Portal

You must implement a permanent connection between your own Portal and Klarna’s Partner Portal, using Klarna’s Deeplink API. The Deep link is a secure, pre-authenticated link that transfers the authenticated Partner from your portal into Klarna’s Partner Portal, without requiring manual log-in or re-identification. This ensures a seamless Partner experience: one click in your portal takes them straight into Klarna, where they can configure Conversion Boost Features, manage how their business appears in the Klarna App, and manage disputes.

The permanent connection allowing to reach Klarna's Partner Portal should be:

  • Easily accessible in all relevant areas and applied consistently across all portals where Klarna is mentioned, not only in the payment methods list.
  • Clearly labeled with a CTA that explains its purpose, e.g.,
    • "Maximize conversion with Klarna"
    • “Open Klarna Partner Portal”
    • "Activate Conversion Boost Features"
  • Accompanied by consent text allowing Partner users to implicitly approve the sharing of their email address.
3. Present Klarna Boost Features

Highlight Klarna’s conversion-boosting products alongside the CTA to the Klarna Partner Portal making it clear why the Partner should click through with this official approved messaging:

“Maximize sales with Klarna. Complete your integration and enjoy instant benefits from additional growth solutions that drive sales. Drive higher conversion with Express Checkout. Increase average order value with On-site Messaging. Attract new customers with Sign in with Klarna.”

Present all of the following Klarna Boost Features using Klarna’s official approved copy to optimize conversion and engagement:

  • On-site messaging - Add personalized messaging throughout the shopper journey for higher conversion rates and increased order value.
  • Express Checkout - Offer a 5x faster check-out process that lowers the threshold for shoppers to complete a purchase.
  • Sign in with Klarna - Allows customers to connect their accounts with pre-set payments and preferences, improving their personalized shopping experiences.
4. Event-Based Promotional Banners

Display approved Klarna messaging in a contextual banner at key Partner moments to drive awareness and engagement — particularly when Klarna’s payment list or placement isn’t immediately visible. Recommended trigger moments include:

  • When Klarna is first enabled.
  • When a Partner migrates to Klarna Network from a legacy Klarna integration.

The banner should highlight Klarna’s payment options and business benefits. You can reuse any of the approved Klarna messaging provided above to reinforce understanding of Klarna and its Conversion Boost Features. Example copy:

“With payment options like Pay Now, Pay in 3 or 4 installments, Pay in 30 days, and Financing, you can offer your customers full flexibility in how and when they pay. Klarna grows businesses by driving net-new sales, reaching new customers, and reducing liability for customer fraud.”

  • Always follow Klarna’s branding, categorization, and placement guidance.
  • Always provide a permanent, accessible deep link to the Klarna Partner Portal, with consent text and a clear CTA.
  • Always present Boost Features with value-oriented messaging.
  • Where possible, reinforce Klarna visibility with contextual banners to increase awareness and adoption.

To maintain clarity and consistency across all touch points, all Klarna-related materials should be reviewed and approved by Klarna before they go live. This helps ensure that Klarna is represented accurately and that Partners can easily activate, understand, and grow with Klarna.
